KAISER IS A
DISTINGUISED SCHOOL!
 It's official. Kaiser Elementary has been named as a 2012 Distinguished Elementary School in the California School Recognition Program (CSRP) distinguished school honorees.
According to their website, the program "Honors some of California's most exemplary and inspiring public schools. Schools selected for the Distinguished School Award demonstrate significant gains in narrowing the achievement gap."

"On May 23 at 10a.m., Kaiser will have its Safety Patrol Assembly. The Safety Patrol is a group of students (4th and 5th graders) who will serve as drop-off participants in the parking circle. We are also looking for parents to volunteer to help the Safety Patrol coordinator..."

KAISER ALIVE!
Kaiser Alive has been extended until Wednesday May 23 to give your kids one more weekend to add points to their booklets!
And don't forget the Kaiser Alive awards picnic at Lake Temescal, Friday June 1st.

The Contra Costa Times ran a great article about Kaiser on Thursday April 26th where they said we have "a caring school community, devoted parent involvement, strong academics with innovative programs, a close-working staff and the ability to affect changes when needed."

JOIN THE SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL
The School Site Council is pleased to have one (1) open position and the addition of one (1) new position for parents in our school community. The positions are elected and require a commitment of 3 years. The election will be held on Back-to-School night (September 2012).
If you are an interested parent, we encourage you to contact the Chair, Susy Hovland, at shovland@yahoo.com and provide a brief descriptive paragraph of who you are and why you would like to be on the Council. These descriptions will be used as part of the ballots to be cast during Back-to-School night (September 2012).
