KAISER ALIVE 2010
Kaiser ALIVE 2010 – Closing Remarks
Kaiser ALIVE has come to a close yet again. And yet again it
was a wonderfully successful event. The closing party last Friday
night was fabulous. It was heartwarming to see how many families
came to participate in this annual event. A BIG thank you to
Kimberly White for the “slammin” BBQ! Also a “Shout Out” to
all the students and to the parents who continue to support their
children every day. Thank you too, to the Kaiser ALIVE volunteer
squad (Mae Chan Frey, Sarah Moxon and Christine Kizziah) and
to the fabulous class tally takers. I truly could not have done
it without your help!
As fast as news spreads through our little community, no doubt
everyone knows who won what, but I would still like to say congratulations
to the top point achievers and the lucky raffle winners. If
you did not get your trophy, your prize certificate or your medal,
they will be available on Tues in the office for you to pick
up.
Also, those with certificates, please contact me with your prize/color
choice by Friday so I can have your prizes to you by the end
of the school year. Please email me at luv2scrap42@yahoo.com .
With warm wishes for a fabulous summer,
Darlene (Kaiya’s Mom) Smith

Good News – Kaiser ALIVE has been extended for
another week! Many of you may have noted that the booklet
states that the program ends May 14th. This year we have decided
to extend that date to May 21st. That gives you a full extra
week to rack up those points!
Please note that the Kuk Sool points were omitted.
They should be listed as 15 points.
Please be sure to bring your booklet back to your teachers by
Fri May 21st so we can tally up the points. Medals and trophies
will be awarded at the annual picnic on Friday June 4th at Lake
Temescal.
In the meantime – Keep up the great work!
Let’s get busy, Kaiser School!
We all know the importance of being active. It stimulates your
mind, keeps you fit, and helps prevent diseases. But, how about
enjoying activities simply because they are FUN? There are
so many awesome things to do both outside and inside that will
keep your brain fresh and creative.
Once again, we have created for the students at Kaiser a passport
to good health that will give them opportunities to be active
and participate in a program in which they will be rewarded.
Starting April 1st, 2010, your child may use this booklet of
suggestions for ways to stay fit, in mind and body. They can
choose from activities that encourage them to play on their own,
or they may select a page that will get them out in the community
or enjoying fun things with the family.
The passport booklet takes into account every age group from
K – 5th grade. That way everyone can participate and have a chance
to win fabulous prizes.
Each year we begin the festivities by holding a cover art contest.
The student who represents the program the best will have his/her
artwork displayed on the cover of the Passport booklet. The entry
forms were passed out in class last week and we ask to have them
back by Monday May 8th. Just in case the original failed to make
it home in one piece there is a copy of the form with this message.
Please remember, the winning artwork is chosen less by skill
and more by vision. We love seeing how the children represent
their thoughts.
We have some great prizes to give out at the end of the ALIVE
program, and we want EVERYONE to qualify for the prize drawing
at the end of the year! In order to do that, we need you as a
parent, coach, or teacher to witness and validate the child’s
passport on the line at the bottom of the appropriate page.
One passport is required for each student at Kaiser School.
Their name will be entered in a drawing to win prizes based
on these levels:
- 100-149 points
- 150-199 points
- 200-249 points
- 250-299 points
- 300+ points
Each child will only be eligible for the drawing if they have
earned the minimum 100 points. However, all students will earn
a participation medal at our program-end celebration. Also, the
student in each grade who earns the most points will take home
a beautiful trophy!
Complete your booklet and return it to your teacher by Friday,
May 14th, 2010.
Please encourage your child to fill as many pages as he/she
can. The more they do, the better the prizes are at our end of
program celebration on Friday, May 21st!
We are hoping that your child will experience something new
and test his/her limits.
