I was asked by Ms. Haruyama if I could welcome everyone back from Spring Break by reciting a poem over our public address (PA) system. This is how I first learned about Kaiser’s tradition of celebrating National Poetry Month by beginning each day with a poem. Listen closely after the first bell and you will hear the words of E.E. Cummings, Shel Silverstein, or even our own resident poet Alonzo Hardin.
This month is a busy one for us Kaiser. Students continue filling in their Kaiser Alive! booklets, upper grade scholars take the annual SBAC assessments, and all kids prepare projects for our science fair and get pledges for the walk-a-thon.
Taking a moment to look back, I am grateful for the auction volunteers and all those who bid on the wide variety of items last month. Your support keeps the visual arts, music, and academic support at Kaiser robust. Our school would not be the same without the tremendous participation of our families and community.
I hope you enjoy this issue of The Pink Panther!
