About the Kaiser Elementary PTA

pta-logo-greyThe Kaiser PTA is a local unit of the Oakland Council, Peralta District of The California Congress of parents, Teachers, and Students, Inc. At Kaiser our goal is 100% participation among of our families. Membership is obtained through paying District PTA dues.

PTA membership will provide full voting privileges, access to National and State PTA resources and discounts, a Kaiser School Directory, and most importantly, strengthen the PTA voice so that policy makers in all areas will hear a strong, unified message on behalf of our children.

PTA Association meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. of the second Thursday of September, November, January, and March unless otherwise changed by the Executive Board. The May meeting is an informal meeting to introduce the new board.

PTA Board meetings are held the 4th Tuesday every month from August to June. If there is an item an association member would like to have put on the agenda, they may contact the PTA President. Association minutes are available only to PTA members. Board meetings are closed. The Board Reports are available only to PTA members.”

Kaiser Dad’s Club

We are forming a Dad’s club to help support our kids. We will figure out a time to meet and how we want to support the school through Pancake Breakfast, etc. Dad’s of any gender are welcome

Giving thanks to the greatest volunteers in the country! Did you know that last year alone PTA volunteers in California contributed more than 18 MILLION HOURS OF SERVICE to their schools and communities?
Whether planning a student field trip, assisting in the classroom, supporting our teachers and school staffs, promoting more parent engagement, hosting a college night, science  night or Reflections event, putting out a PTA newsletter, organizing a fundraiser, speaking up on important children’s issues, serving as an officer and taking care of the day-to-day needs of your local association — or doing the hundreds of other things PTA members and leaders do every day to serve on behalf of children and families — we thank you!

 

Why did you Join PTA?

This fall, Jamba Juice is helping to sponsor a “Why I Joined PTA” celebration. California State PTA is asking members to help celebrate by sharing a very short video or essay with the reason why you first joined your local PTA.

Maybe you wanted to get more involved with your child’s school, or get to know the teachers better? Maybe you wanted to be a part of the largest children’s advocacy association in the state and nation? Or maybe you just wanted to help your child’s class win a pizza party? Whatever the reason, we want to hear it!

Now through December, the first 75 people who help us celebrate by sharing their “Why I Joined PTA” video or essay will receive, courtesy of Jamba Juice, a Jamba Award for a free 16 oz. smoothie from their local store.

Plus, California State PTA will select certain videos or essays to feature online.  If yours is selected, Jamba Juice will provide your local PTA with an additional 10 Jamba Award cards (a $45 value). These make great rewards for students and teachers.

It’s easy to join the celebration! Submit your video or essay to website@capta.org. Videos may also be submitted on Facebook. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to reach out to others at your school or in your community and ask them to join your PTA this year as well.

The PTA raises funds through a variety of sources, including donations, eScript and memberships. Our largest fundraisers are Pledges, the Auction and Kaiser Walk-A-Thon.  Watch for details about these important events.
