As a community, one way we can help the strike is by organizing small (8-10 kids) “Solidarity Schools” to keep kids from crossing the picket line. These schools are parent/guardian organized and run at local churches, rec centers, libraries, or even homes. The parent volunteers determine a daily schedule and activities for the participating kids. If you are interested in organizing and/or joining a Solidarity School during the strike, please fill out this questionnaire. If your classroom has a number of responses AND someone steps up to organize, then the information from the questionnaire will be passed to the volunteer organizer along with supporting materials to help you organize a Solidarity School. This is a parent lead effort, Kaiser Elem. teachers, administration, staff, and PTA are not organizing Solidarity Schools.
