The special talents of our Kaiser Parents are a great strength for our school. You may be unable to commit to time in the classroom, but is there something else you could offer to our school? Can you classroom help, donate food for a snack sale, bring a dish to a potluck event, or drive on a field trip? Can you assist at a fundraising activity? If you’d like to volunteer, ask your teacher how you can help; signup or contact the PTA President at KaiserPresident@gmail.com.

Hello Kaiser Families:
This message is intended to clarify TB and fingerprinting clearance information for family and community members volunteering at Kaiser Elementary. Oakland Education Fund is working with Oakland Unified School District to bring our schools into compliance with state and federal laws, as well as best practices for the safety of our children. This change is a big shift, so thanks to everyone for bearing with it!
Clearance requirement options:
* No clearance needed: Anyone volunteering once or twice in a school year, under the direct supervision of a teacher does not need clearance.
* TB clearance: Anyone volunteering more than twice in a school year.
* Fingerprinting & TB clearance needed: Anyone volunteering in any capacity that is not supervised by a teacher. (Including driving for a field trip or any overnight field trip.) This is highly recommended, as it opens up all volunteer opportunities.
Get started by registering online here: www.oaklandedfund.org/parent-volunteers/ Their team will then follow up with instructions and forms to complete the volunteer on-boarding process.
How to submit proof of negative TB:
This can either be sent directly to the Oakland Ed Fund (firstname.lastname@example.org, or P.O. Box 71005, Oakland, CA 94612) or our Admin Assistant Ms. Padilla can support in making copies and passing them on to the Ed Fund. Details of what proof is needed are at this link.)
Where can I get my fingerprinting done?
At the offices of “The Loss Prevention Group”. 1814 Franklin St, Ste 618, Oakland. Monday – Friday 9 AM – 5 PM w/o appt or Sat morning with appt, which can be made at www.fingerprintingappointment.com
A state or federally issued ID is required. The cost is $35 (cash, check or charge), if this $35 fee presents a hardship, please contact email@example.com for information about a fee waiver. You must print and bring the form with you that you can find at this link. (Copies are also available at the Kaiser office.)
What if I have been fingerprinted before?
* If you have been fingerprinted for OUSD volunteering, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to be sure it is still current. (Please also ask her to confirm that you are on Kaiser’s list!)
* If you have been fingerprinted by any other agency, unfortunately, these results are non transferable.
Further questions about volunteer clearance should be directed to Lilly Smith at email@example.com
